Anastasio Mural
In memory of Anastasio Hernandez Rojas, this mural is for him and his family. It tells the story of the abuse of migrants seeking a better life.
"This mural project is in memory of Anastasio Hernandez Rojas who was brutally beaten by border agents on May 28, 2010 and who died three days later. While handcuffed and on the ground, he was beaten, kicked, and tasered by more than 12 border agents. While he pleaded for mercy in plain sight of onlookers.
This mural also tells the story of the abuse of migrants seeking for a better life - including the brutal imprisonment, neglect, and abuse of innocent children. The mural project is an act of collective healing where justice has been elusive for the individuals, their families, and the communities that confront this inhumanity on a daily basis."
