Fresno San Pablo Park Project: "Que Hermoso es La Vida"
The City of Fresno commissioned artists to transform the space beneath Highway 180 with 20 vibrant murals.
I crafted this piece titled "Que Hermoso es La Vida." I approached this design with a whimsical spirit, using bright, playful colors to reflect the joy of the children who bring the park to life. But I also wanted to weave in a deeper message. one that honors resilience and the celebration of life. I took a moment to reflect within myself and see what I appreciate it in my life and culture, which is family, friends, color, and dance. This is where jarabe Tapatio drew my inspiration.Â
The desert is often seen as barren and unforgiving. However, it still holds vibrant life within it. Just like the human experience, at times we believe that this world is cruel and unforgiving. Still, as humans we find the beauty in life when we surpass these hardships. This mural is a reminder that when we have someone or a community that supports you along this journey, life is worth living to the very end and to the very last dance.Â
